The symposium on the responsibilities of the private sector in health care will be held on 3 October 2007 in Amsterdam. Mindful of the suggestions that stakeholders have given us in the past and taking into account the Executive Board's wish to stimulate an open dialogue with all relevant parties, we have organised this unique symposium. We aim to inspire each other in order to increase our commitment and expertise by offering presentations that will include visions on the future of health care in resource-poor settings and that will provide a challenging platform for discussion.

If you have made plans to attend this conference, please make sure you reserve time to visit some of the wonderful sites of Amsterdam. With its rich cultural and historical heritage, Amsterdam effortlessly balances its past with its present. The canal houses and surrounding museums and monuments serve as a unique backdrop to this dynamic and cosmopolitan city, known over the ages for its freedom and tolerance. Some of the highlights you definitely should not miss include the Anne Frank House, Westerkerk, the Van Gogh Museum, the National Museum of Art and History (the Rijksmuseum), the Heineken Experience and more.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by e-mail,
or, for questions on the content of the symposium, by phone: +31 (0) 20 5239 461
